Assumption of the BVM Catholic Church has a cemetery which it owns and operates. The parish seeks to be diligent in managing and maintaining the cemetery. It is important that we all help in this endeavor to keep our cemetery clean, well maintained, and operating smoothly. To assist in this endeavor, the following rules and policies have been adopted.
1. All burials must be authorized in advance.
2. Plots may be purchased in advance using a payment plan.
3. Plots must be paid in full before a burial may occur.
4. No monuments may be erected in advance until plots are paid in full.
5. No pouring of concrete, curbing or ledgers is allowed.
6. Maintaining monuments or tombstones is the responsibility of the family.
7. Planting of trees, bushes or any other plants is not allowed.
8. No more than two flower arrangements are permanently allowed on a gravesite. (During the week of All Saints' & All Souls' Day, additional flowers are allowed.)
9. No more than two candles or solar lights are permanently allowed on a gravesite. (During the week of All Saints' & All Souls' Day, additional candles or solar lights are allowed.)
10. Flowers and solar lights are to be put as close as possible to the tombstone. Flowers can be put on the tombstone if possible.
11. Miscellaneous items and trinkets are not allowed on gravesites.
12. We reserve the right to remove flowers that have disintegrated or blown away, or any other items that are not allowed.
13. The center crucifix is common ground and is to remain unadorned. Please do not place anything around it.
The Cemetery Board reserves the right to amend these rules and policies, or to take whatever action deemed necessary to protect the property and to assure proper care and management of the cemetery.
Sincerely,
Assumption of the BVM Cemetery Board Members
